Evaluation of the effectiveness and tolerability of the skin against a cosmetic product for the loss of hair.
Product: AFELCINA lotion (Sansone)
Company: G.S.N. S.r.l.
The results from 15 of the 30 volunteers affected by genetic andrology (baldness), both masculine and feminine,
who have completed four weeks testing of the product are reported herein. The volunteers, 11 males and 4 females,
aged between 26 and 55 (average age 36.5), used the lotion as directed (7 ml. of product) on the scalp once a day for 28 days.
The data, as detailed in the attached table and graph, refers to the problem of hair loss, seborrhoea,
dandruff and itching, before the application of the product (T0) and after the initial four weeks of using the product (T4).
The tests resulted in the following figures.:
- 81.3% decrease of hair loss (T0: 1.07% - T4: 0.2%)
- 46.9% reduction in seborrhea (T0: 1.13% -T4: 0.6%)
- 33.3% reduction in dandruff (T0: 0.6% - T4: 0.2%)
- No itching side effects have been reported (T0: 0.2% - T4: 0.2%).
At the beginning of the study 12 of the 15 volunteers reported that their hair loss was greater than the
population average, however after completing the primary 4 week programme 3 of the volunteers reported a
reduction of hair loss in respect to the norm and the other 9 reported a normalisation.
